Monart Has Launched a Vibrant Vegan Menu for Ultimate Wellness

Monart Destination Spa is at the top of our Irish staycation bucket list, and Ireland’s premier spa resort just made booking that wellness escape all the more tempting with the addition of a brand new seasonal vegan menu.

A carefully crafted list of plant-based dishes has been added to the à la Carte menu offering in both the restaurant and recently revamped Garden Lounge Bar.

Each evening, the fine dining restaurant at Monart caters for guests who wish to indulge or make healthier choices and a new vegan menu now offers additional options for diners embracing the wellness benefits of an escape to Monart.

Monart’s Michelin recommended restaurant embraces the best of local and seasonal produce and this carries through to the new plant based offering, which can be enjoyed overlooking the lush lagoon and gardens of the resort.

Executive chef Azaharan Bin Ostman says that Monart is responding to a growing demand for plant based dishes; “We didn’t want to add just one vegan offering to our regular menu, we wanted to offer a delicious variety of dishes from bespoke and seasonal menus all free of meat and dairy products. The flavour combinations and ingredients have all been studiously thought out and we hope the new menu will be a big hit with our guests.”

The new vegan menu is designed seasonally and will change accordingly. It sits alongside the original menu which features a variety of delicious dishes featuring ingredients from the best food producers in the South East including Cullen’s Fruit and Vegetables from Gorey, Green Hill Fruit Farm in Davidstown, Millstream Seafood in Caim, Killowen Dairy Foods Enniscorthy and Ballycross Apple Farm in Wexford.

The new vegan menu consists of homemade vegan breads, an Amuse Bouche followed by fresh soup of the evening served with sourdough croutons and fresh herbs, a butter bean salad with avocado, baby gem, heirloom tomato with chili, basil & lime vinaigrette or a raw vegetable spring roll served with a cashew and tamarind dip. A delicious iced sorbet offers the perfect palate cleanser.

For main course, there is a choice of lentil & chickpea curry served with coconut rice, mango chutney and onion pakoras, a courgetti dish served with olive, artichoke, spinach, cherry tomato and red pepper coulis or a smoked tofu stir fry served with rice noodles and Asian leaves.

Dessert includes an exotic vegan passion fruit & coconut pannacotta served with a lychee sorbet. The new Vegan Menu will be available to guests in both the restaurant and Garden Lounge Bar. All à la Carte restaurant dinner menus are priced at €45 per person excluding supplements for five courses.
