Cork’s Newest Restaurant Dockland Anchors Down in Style with Dedicated Bloody Mary Menu

In the past year Cork city has upped its game in the culinary stakes boasting impressive openings such Cask on MacCurtain Street and Rachel Allen’s first restaurant, Rachel’s, on Washington Street. Now the southern capital has another string to add to its bow with the opening of Dockland restaurant, deli and bar.

The newly remodeled space restaurant on Lapp’s Quay, which was formerly home to The Club Brasserie, is the latest venture of the dynamic restaurateurs Harold Lynch and Beth Haughton. Dockland sits alongside the Clayton Hotel (previously the Clarion) and two pod cafes that also populate the boardwalk.

The new all day restaurant has Cork city slickers covered from breakfast until late, with the choice to dine at the striking 1950s style countertop bar or in the 90-seater restaurant. Take out from the gourmet delicatessen is also an option as well as city centre desk delivery.

With owner and Ballymaloe-trained chef Harold in the kitchen there will be a focus on local produce throughout the menu, with stand out additions including the Dockland Pizza, with Ballyhoura creamy mushrooms and crispy bacon, along with the grilled sumac spiced lamb steak. Vegan and gluten-free options are also available.

Dockland will hope to make its mark on Cork’s brunch scene offering the only dedicated Bloody Mary menu in the city centre, with six types available including the signature Beetroot Bloody Mary, made with gin, beetroot, dill, and lime.

Another unique menu feature is the ‘Breakfast in Bread’, a loaded sourdough loaf filled with everything from eggs, cheese, and bacon to spinach and mushrooms.

Speaking on the opening, Beth Haughton said: “Cork is a dynamic city with a young population. We are surrounded by an audience that is much more into their food than ever before, with a passion for eating, drinking and entertaining.”

“With Dockland, we are embracing this lifestyle, and are there for every part of your busy day – whether that’s a quick coffee and freshly made pastry to take away in the morning or a leisurely dinner with friends.”

Dockland is now open from 10am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 11am to 10pm Saturday, and 11am to 7pm Sunday.

While their new website is still under construction you can keep up to date with Dockland on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
