Eat for Free at Dublin’s New Heinz Beanz Cafe and it’s Popping Up in Cork Too

If a fry up isn’t the same for you without a portion of baked beans, or the popular breakfast food is often your go-to dinner in a hurry then you’ll want to reserve a table at the Heinz Beanz Cafe, popping up in Dublin from today and coming to Cork in May.

The creative menus prove that beans can be more than a bit on the side – and the best thing is that all the food is completely free!

Open from 12pm today, the Heinz Beanz Cafe will be located at 33 Wicklow Street in Dublin 2 until Sunday, 30th April, where it will dish out baked beans with a variety of customer’s favourite toppings on offer.

The cafe will pop up in Cork on Tuesday 2nd May and run up until Sunday 7 May, with local favourite Ali’s Kitchen playing host.

The cafes have been designed to mark the 50th anniversary of the bean-maker’s iconic “Beanz Meanz Heinz” slogan, which was thought up by advertising executive Maurice Drake over two pints of beer in 1967.

Open from Monday to Tuesday 8am-6pm, Wednesday to Saturday 8am-7pm and Sunday 12pm-3.30pm, Heinz Beanz lovers can book in for a free breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The cafés will fit up to 25 people per hour-long session.

On the breakfast menu, served at 8am, 9am, 10am, you can choose your Heinz Baked Beanz medium of choice: a tortilla wrap, gluten free baps or a bread bowl.

You can opt to top off your beans with black pudding, scrambled eggs or bacon, and tomato relish, or go veggie with scrambled egg, chives and relish.

There’s also Irish pork sausage, bacon and chives on the menu.

Add a final flourish to your beans bowl with a extra topping of cheddar cheese, sour cream, slaw, or cream cheese.

On the Lunch (12pm, 1pm, 2pm) and Dinner (4pm, 5pm 6pm) menu you can have ‘brinner’; sampling the same menu as served at breakfast, or go for beans on toast or jacket potato with a choice of the same breakfast toppings.

More substantial dishes include Beef Chilli con Carne with mixed beans, cheddar sour cream & tortilla chips, Roast red pepper filled with beans, roast onion, tomato and melted cheddar with chive mayo, and Huevos Rancheros Beans, Chorizo, smashed avocado, spicy tomato salsa on tortilla.
