Looking for a frozen treat without the dairy? Cork startup Oh! Naturelle, which creates a range of award-winning gourmet sorbets, has just secured a listing in Dublin stores. “We scooped three gold stars in the Great Taste Awards last year for our handmade Raspberry & Rose Sorbet and since then we’ve been inundated with requests from Dublin customers,” said Louise Ryan, co-owner of Oh! Naturelle.
“The demand for local, Irish made products is huge along with the increased appetite for dairy-free alternatives to treats like ice-cream.”
Oh! Naturelle was launched in 2015 by entrepreneurs Aisling Murphy & Louise Ryan. Creating a range of fruit sorbets with creative flavour combinations, their range includes the award-winning Raspberry & Rose Sorbet as well as Grape, Chai Tea & Mint Sorbet.
The duo started the company whilst looking for a dairy free treat without a compromising on flavour. “We’re big foodies and couldn’t find a great tasting, dairy free ice-cream, so I went into the kitchen and started my own in my little ice-cream machine,” said Aisling.
“Friends and family went crazy for it because it’s so low in calories and tastes incredible so we approached our Local Enterprise Office who put us through Food Academy with SuperValu and Bord Bia.” As part of the Food Academy Advance programme the product is not only available in Cork and Tipperary but is now available in a number of Dublin SuperValus i.e. Deansgrange, Killiney, Mount Merrion, Malahide, Balally, Firhouse , Donabate, Killester and Santry.
