City of Tribes and the Rebel County will join forces this October for an evening of Persian inspired food and drink with Flavour.ie, a website dedicated to West Cork food, coming together with Galway based Levantine food specialist Mitzi’s Mezze to host a multi-course feast titled PERSIANA.
The event takes place on Saturday 14th October, Tots Pub, Ballygurteen, West Cork, just ten minutes outside from Clonakilty, and promises to be an exploration of the flavours, texture and music inspired by the flavours of Persia in “Persiana”.
Galway based and founded by Mary Toomey, Mitzi’s Mezze are Levantine cuisine specialists, experts in the food that originates from the region that stretches from the Eastern Mediterranean and Turkey to North Africa and into the Persian countries of Iran, Iraq and beyond.
Mitzi’s Mezze started life as a Supper Club and quickly grew a reputation for her unique style producing excellent food with her successful catering service, cookery demonstrations and classes. Mitzi’s Mezze regularly provides tastings for Galway Food Tours, run by Sheena Dignam.On what guests can expect, Kate Ryan of Flavour.ie said, “We will be giving centre stage to glorious vegetables.”

A West Cork based drumming group will welcome guests and get everyone into the spirit of the evening, and DJ Paul Cullen will produce a ‘Music Menu’ to accompany the Persian feast.
The event kicks off at 7.30pm, with tickets priced at €50pp including a multi-course feast of 6 mezze, 2 mains with salads, dessert, petit fours and homemade blended tea/coffee, welcome drink, gift, recipe sheets and music.
Guests can choose between a totally vegetarian menu or a meat main course when booking.
