Located in the heart of the Dublin Docklands area, at the pulse Architectural revival the gibson hotel makes the toing and froing of city life from all quarters a cinch.

 

The gibson hotel creates moments that will last long in the memory and this October 3rd at 6pm will be no exception with their much anticipated Spanish Wine Evening hosting some of the greatest Spanish wines in the famous first dates restaurant, coda eatery. This evening will certainly be described as an experience as executive head chef, Igor Cikarev, brings a bespoke menu to life in this intimate ticket only evening.

 

Showcasing some of the world’s finest wines from the very famous Osbourne Group the 9th oldest international family business who are renowned for their sherry wines to Alvaro Palacios the most famous winemaker in the world. The man who is credited with putting Spain on the world map for fine wines. Winner of Wine Man of the Year and Producer of classic wines from Rioja to name but a few.

Toasted brioche with Iberico Ham, pibil sauce
Wine: Osborne Fino Sherry Grape: Palomino Region: Jerez

 

Established in the 18 th Century, this very famous family is the 9 th oldest international family business in the world. Renowned for their Sherry wines that are served all over the world. This drink is fast regaining its old popularity and been understood as a great food match.

 

Green pepper gazpacho, cucumber & passion fruit
Wine: Masia Freye Grape: Parallada / Muscat Region: Penedes

 

Vallformosa was established in 1865 and are specialist in Cava but have a small production of still wines with a strong focus on local gapes and wines that express the local style. With their wines they are very focused are where they put because they like their wines to only be matched with establishments that are food and wine passionate.

The vineyard is located on a 3000 hectare estate that dates back to 1503. It belonged to Queen Isabella, the powerful monarch who sponsored Christopher Columbus voyage to the New World.This region was voted the Top Wine Region to Vist in the world in 2013 with PradoRey on the top of the bill to visit and experience.

Fillet of hake, pak choi, shitake, crispy onion, vanilla veloute
Wine: Abadia San Campo Grape: Albarino Region: Rias Baixas

 

Terras Gauda are considered by the world press to be the one of the finest producers of Albarino in the world. A small producer that strives to express this incredible grape combined with the terroir of the Rias Baixas region Their wines were selected by the King of Spain back 2013 when he had dinner with the Irish President.

 

Rump of lamb, ras el hanout potato puree, garlic, spiced carrot, chorizo jus
Wine: Vallformosa Rose Cava Grape: Garacha /Monsatrell Region: Penedes

 

Cava is made in the same process as Champagne and is very underrated. Vallformosa are one of the top 3 Cava producers in Spain. There model based on a high level of quality, innovation and flexibility has them exported to over 50 countries.
