Watch: Rachel Allen Hosts Kitchen Take Over at Brasserie on the Corner

TV Chef, author and journalist Rachel Allen joined the culinary team at Brasserie on the Corner for a Kitchen Takeover at the award-winning restaurant.

Celebrating the Galway Food Festival, guests on the night savoured an exclusive menu created by the chef, who is most recognised for being at the helm of the world-famous Ballymaloe Cookery School.

Rachel hosted a meet & greet with diners on arrival, with a Gin & Tonic reception from Concullin Gin tempting palates. She then talked through her menu choices as each course was served, and also shared her cookery tips.

The dishes incorporated Rachel’s key cooking techniques of simple but delicious food, ideal for family and friends. Her influences are both regional and global, with the BBC describing her as an “Irish cooking queen” and Good Food Magazine believe she “has put Irish cooking on the map in recent years”.

The event was certainly a highlight of the annual food festival and Eimear Killian, General Manager at Brasserie on the Corner said: “Needless to say, we were delighted to welcome Rachel into the kitchen at Brasserie on the Corner. She created a truly delicious menu combining her own cooking techniques, along with our restaurant ethos of quality locally-sourced, superior steak and seafood dishes!.”

Since opening its door in 2012, Brasserie on the Corner has become an integral part of the city’s thriving food scene. The team take a real in-house approach when preparing and cooking all dishes, where possible, from scratch.
