Rhône Wine Week Ireland – A celebration of the wines of the Rhône Valley
From the 29th of October to the 5th of November, Irish wine lovers will celebrate Rhône Wine Week Ireland, a celebration of the wines of the Rhône Valley, which returns on its 4th edition with even more wines to try and activities to enjoy.
Importers, restaurants and wine shops will be highlighting wines from this legendary region with tastings, dinners, offers, and more, with the support of Inter-Rhône (the French body charged with promoting the wines of this region).

The Big Rhône Quiz will take place in Dublin on the evening of Monday 7th November 2016 in the Drury Buildings. The prize you can win, generously sponsored by Inter-Rhône, is simply fantastic: A trip for your team to the Découvertes en Vallée du Rhône 2017 the bi-annual, 4-day tasting event that showcases the best the Rhône has to offer (10th – 13th April 2017). The prize includes flights, accommodation and car hire, as well as entry to the various tastings taking place over the 4 days.
Get studying, your best resource for preparation would be the Inter-Rhone website. Find out all about the history, the appellations and the grape varieties of this amazing region.
Be sure to register your team (4 people max per team) and starting brushing up on the Rhône.

Simon Tyrrell, winemaker with Les Deux Cols, will be in store and will be talking about his range of Rhône wines in advance of Rhône Wine Week.
Bruno Boisson from Domaine Boisson in Cairanne and Simon Tyrrell, winemaker at Les Deux Cols both from the Southern Rhône will takes us through the region’S history and distinctive features. You will get to taste six wines in total followed by supper with wine.

A five course dinner with Rhone wine pairing in the Brasserie at the Marker Hotel, Dublin, which will be welcoming Denis Alary from Domaine Alary and Thierry Faravel from Domaine la Bouïssiere, both from the Southern Rhône to the Brasserie. Join us for a special Rhône tasting and a screening of the film After Love, in conjunction with the IFI and Inter-Rhône as part of the French Film Festival. Hugo Levingstone from Domaine de Mourchon will take you through his range of Rhône wines. The wine-tasting will start at 19:00 pm, and the film will commence at 20:30 pm.
