Saturday 29th August will see Flanagan’s on the Lake host the Ring of Lough Derg BBQ Competition in conjunction with the Irish BBQ Association.
Ireland’s most prestigious barbecue cooking competition will welcome in excess of 30 teams to compete for the An Fulacht Fia Cup and a place in next year’s European Championships.
Judges will be scoring the teams’ dishes based on three main considerations; appearance, taste and texture/tenderness.
Cathal Quinn of Flanagan’s on the Lake says “I am delighted to see so many teams interested in this year’s event. It proves that The Ring of Lough Derg BBQ Festival is firmly on the Irish culinary map for both chefs and patrons alike“.
With free entry for spectators the day promises to be a culinary experience not to be missed with local food producers in attendance showcasing their products and lots of family fun with live entertainment throughout the day.
Anyone interested in entering a team will get a discount if they enter before the 16th of August. For more information visit www.irishbbqassociation.com
