Exciting news today as award-winning Saba Restaurants have just been announced as the Official Partner to Hockey Ireland. The culinary team is working closely with Hockey Ireland to create nutritious and delicious meals for the players on the women’s national team.
The restaurant will be providing the women with vitamin-rich dishes throughout their training sessions and games. The team is getting suck into practice as they prepare for upcoming competitions and qualifications for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Currently, the restaurants are running their annual Caveman Month, in which they offer healthy and tasty paleo inspired menus. The popular Caveman Curry is back in full force – a gluten-free curry full of butternut squash, bok choi, and sweet potato, that is served with a rich red curry sauce. The caveman menu is available in both branches of Saba, as well as their three Saba To Go takeaways.
Owner of Saba Paul Cadden said, “We are very proud to partner Hockey Ireland for the upcoming years and support this inspiring group of players. They have had an amazing year reaching the World Cup Finals, a first for any Irish team and also winning multiple awards including RTE Sports Team of the Year and Graham Shaw winning Manager of the Year.”
Continuing on Paul said, “This team is very ambitious, and we are delighted to play our part to help them achieve their goals and inspire the next generation of players. In a game where small margins can improve performance, we hope Saba’s food gives them that extra 1%, fuelling the Green Army towards the Olympics in Tokyo 2020.”
Saba is delighted to team up with Hockey Ireland and is excited to bring their authentic Thai and Vietnamese dishes to the women’s hockey team.
Hockey Ireland’s CEO Jerome Pels has said: “We are delighted to have Saba Restaurants and Saba To Go come on board as an Official Partner. Saba offers high quality, nutritious meals that are ideal for our senior women’s team while they prepare to compete on the world stage. Saba chefs have been working closely with our management and nutritional staff to ensure the Green Army will be fuelled to the highest standard. We very much look forward to working together over the coming years”.
