Salty, Malty, Sweet – This Fabulous Chocolate, Beer and Bacon Tour Is A Food Lover’s Dream

Are you a lover of all things salty, malty, sweet? Perhaps you’re a craft beer lover or a chocoholic. Whatever your weakness, Gallivanting Tours have created the perfect food tour combining the heavenly trio of chocolate, beer and bacon.

The Salty, Malty and Sweet Tour begins with a visit to  Bean & Goose Chocolate. Created by sisters Karen and Natalie Keane they use natural and seasonal ingredients to make some of Ireland’s most tempting chocolate.

On the tour you will sample some of Bean & Goose’s most popular chocolate flavours and learn about choosing flavour combinations. This will come in handy when you create your own bar of chocolate at the exciting two hour workshop.

Your chocolate creation will then be specially gift wrapped and you will also get two mouth-watering Bean & Goose limited edition bars.

You will certainly have built up an appetite from your time in the kitchen so a spot of lunch is essential. You will stop at award winning The Wilds in Enniscorthy. The Wilds use local, organic and free range products in their kitchen, serving up freshly baked goods, homemade relishes and seasonal salads.

The next stop is to O’Neills Dry Cure Bacon owned by Pat and Mary O’Neill. This savory treat is made using traditional methods to a secret recipe. This part of the tour is lead by Mary herself who will talk you through the curing process, learn about their sausages and pudding and then you’ll sample one of Ireland’s most loved sandwiches – a Bacon Buttie.

The final stop on the tour is to the Drew Fox Brewery founded by Malcolm and Andrea Molloy. The pair have created a range of fantastic craft beers – you’ll get two bottles of your own to take away.  The selection of these delicious Cleverman Ales include a full bodied amber ale, a Kolsch style beer, a smoked stout and an American pale ale.

Tickets for this Salty, Malty and Sweet food tour are €180 per person. Included in the price is transport in a luxury vehicle throughout the tour as well as all samples, lunch and a few tasty treats to take home along the way.
