A Second Jamie Oliver Restaurant is Coming to Dublin

If you’re a fan of the Naked Chef and his no-nonsense approach to cooking, the news that a second Jamie Oliver restaurant is set to open in Dublin will be music to your ears. Jamie’s Italian opened in Dundrum Town Centre in 2012 and has become a popular spot for fans of hearty and rustic dishes, from pasta to antipasti sharing boards.

According to The Irish Times, Gerard Fitzpatrick, the businessman behind Jamie’s Italian Dundrum, has his sights set on opening another restaurant under the Jamie Oliver brand, although the next eatery may not follow the same format as the popular Italian chain.

A Jamie’s Pizzeria restaurant offering hand-stretched, artisan thin crust pizzas topped with locally sourced ingredients could be the latest addition to Dublin, as this concept has proven successful with outlets in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Speaking to The Irish Times, Fitzpatrick expressed his intention to open a 60-100 seater restaurant, ideally in the city centre to maximise footfall and passing custom. The new addition to the portfolio is said to be in the final stages of negotiations and it is hoped the restaurant will open in the next six months.

Whether it turns out to be Jamie’s Italian or Pizzeria, the new restaurant is sure to be a popular addition to the city centre when it opens.
