To celebrate this whiskey coming to our bars from its original home in Northen Ireland, guests were invited to a special launch in Smock Alley Theatre.

Here, four bars served eight unique Sexton Single Malt Whiskey cocktails including The Holy Grail, Love it to Death and The Haunted. When each guest arrived at the venue they were given a ticket to an experience like no other, The Dark Room.

In groups of 10, guests were greeted by The Host before being led to the mysterious Dark Room for a whiskey tasting in total darkness. During this tasting, guests listened to the tale of The Sexton while enjoying the whiskey neat to experience the full flavour.

This memorable whiskey has notes of dark chocolate and nuts, followed by all spice and marzipan. On the palate, mellow honeyed malt and oils give way to a gentle wood finish with a mild sweetness.

Master Blender Alex Thomas was on hand after the tasting to talk to guests about her exciting new whiskey creation.

Leaving The Dark Room guests enjoyed more cocktails and a true feast for all the senses, sight, sound and scent. To make the event even more atmospheric The Dublin Gospel Choir performed incredible hymnal versions of classic songs from popular artists such as Hozier, Radiohead, and REM.

While guests enjoyed bespoke cocktails created especially for the event they nibbled on culinary delights by Seáneen Sullivan of L.Mulligan Grocer.

Seáneen created a delicious Feasting Table full of charcuterie, cheese, poached trout, bread, and dips. Guests enjoyed unique whiskey cocktails made with The Sexton cocktails as well as taking home fun selfies made from a special photo booth.
