A monster has invaded the Lord Mayor’s Lounge at the Shelbourne Hotel. But don’t panic just yet, it’s the work of the innovative pastry team in The Shelbourne, who after creating an exclusive Floral Afternoon Tea earlier this year have just unveiled their latest creation, a new afternoon tea designed for Halloween.
Created with the spooky season in mind, the Hallowe’en Afternoon Tea puts a terrifying twist on all the essential elements of a traditional afternoon tea.
So alongside all your favourites – dainty sandwiches, homemade buttermilk scones with clotted cream and jams, a range of twenty-one loose leaf teas or one of The Shelbourne specialty coffees – the menu for the Hallowe’en Afternoon Tea includes a selection of creatively creepy sweet treats.
Ghoulish goodies for the Hallowe’en Afternoon include the traditional Irish Hallowe’en specialty of The Shelbourne’s own barm brack The Pumpkin, a caramelised pumpkin and cinnamon mousse cheesecake macaron, The Ghost, a profiterole with raspberry lemon mousse, and The Witches’ Hat, a blackcurrant and white chocolate mousse.
Available during the month of October, the Hallowe’en Afternoon Tea at The Shelbourne is served daily in the Lord Mayor’s Lounge and costs €49 per person for a classic tea or €64 per person for a Champagne afternoon tea.
