Chef Dylan McGrath has added another string to his culinary bow – adding to his restaurant empire that includes Fade Street Social, Rustic Stone, Bonsai Bar, Taste and Brasserie Sixty6, he now adds Shelbourne Social to the list.
Dublin’s newest venue is a welcome addition to Ballsbridge in Dublin 4. The 85 seat venue includes a stylish mixture of intimate dining spaces, light and airy areas ideal for sipping cocktails and a cutting-edge bar space. The drinks menu is full of exciting and innovative cocktails, as well as an eclectic beer and wine selection.
For dining options, guests can expect flavourful dishes of dry-aged smoked short ribs, foie gras with poached winter plum and whole duck and chicken that will be carved tableside adding a theatrical flair to the venue.
The menu also features contemporary dishes such as hen’s egg with smoked trout roe and ossestra caviar with seaweed butter.
Speaking about the new venue Dylan said, “Shelbourne Social is an innovative new approach to dining in the city. As a restaurant, I feel it relies on the fundamentals — style, comfort, simple and great food, and excellent drinks. We’ve created a menu putting what customers want at the fore and hopefully, we have evolved with how people want to eat. We haven’t hung our hat on any particular style. I hope people enjoy dining here as much as we have enjoyed creating it.”
Shelbourne Social is the sixth restaurant venture from Dylan McGrath and business partner Vincent Melinn. Both Billy Creaney and Gerard Melinn are also key players in the restaurant group.
The interior design is from London outfit 20.20 Limited, who describe the eagerly awaited new space as “a clash of off-beat art and grown-up sophistication, combining laid-back luxury, high-end dining and a cutting-edge vibe, which delivers a new social venue with a playful, urban vibe to the heart of Ballsbridge”.
