Spanish Wines to be Celebrated in Bordeaux at Vinexpo 2017

Spain will have a privileged spot Vinexpo 2017, one of the world’s most important wine shows, to be hosted in Bordeaux from June 18th to 21st. Vinexpo 2017 offers a specific action plan to honor Spain with a free tasting zone dedicated to Spanish wines held in the centre of the Exhibition.

Spain’s VIP status at the fair will be highlighted with specific “Country of Honour” signage and 25% of the invited buyers will be dedicated to the Spanish market.

Spain is the third largest wine exporter in the world and it also features the world’s largest wine-making surface area. As pointed out at the Vinexpo 2017 website, “thanks to the modernisation of wine styles, thanks also to the sober and attractive packaging, to the excellent price-quality ratio and its commercial dynamism, Spain shines on international markets.”

One of the highlights of Spain at the show will be an event called “A Taste of Spain”, for which renown magazine Wine Spectator will partner up with the organisers to gather top wineries from Spain’s most important wine regions. The event will reunite 1,500 invited guests at the Palais de la Bourse, and it will also showcase the best of Spanish cuisine, with restaurants chosen by by culinary genious Ferran Adrià.

As reported on winespectator.com, Vinexpo CEO Guillaume Deglise commented that “A Taste of Spain is shaping up to be one of the most provocative and essential events of Vinexpo Bordeaux 2017”.
