From the beautiful scenery to the rich variety of food and drink, Sligo is a treasure trove for food lovers in Ireland.

Located in Strandhill, Black Sheep Bakery is an artisan bakery specialising in homemade baking. Baker Sarah founded the bakery in 2015 after moving to Ireland in the late 2000’s.

Black Sheep Bakery creates cakes for any occasion. They also specialise in macarons, gooey cookies and scrumptious brownies.

Qualified Nutritionist Deborah Sherlock runs Root Juice, a cold pressed juice company based in Sligo. Deborah has always had a keen interest in health and well-being and is also the founder of Proactive Nutrition.

THE CAKE LADY

The Cake Lady can create any treat your heart desires, whether it’s a picture you’ve seen or an idea that’s just popped into your head. You can choose from a wide selection of flavours, from plain madeira to chocolate and baileys madeira.

She also specialises in wedding, birthday and christening cakes, and is currently nominated for Cake Designer of the Year in the 2017 Wedding Journal Reader Awards.

THE IRISH TEA COMPANY

Founded in 2008, the family run Irish Tea Company are passionate about their loose leaf tea and their range of honey.

Based in Cootehall, Co. Roscommon, they offer teas from all around the world, including China, India, Japan, Sri Lanka, South America and Africa.

Westie is a street food market stall and mobile caterer. This “fresh new food experience inspired by global flavours” specialises in locally sourced artisan street food.

SUSHI SISTERS

Strandhill People's Market

Catherine Byrne runs food business Sushi Sisters with her sister Mary. At their Strandhill market stall, they sell the unlikely combination of sushi and Middle Eastern and Greek Food.

Catherine has been a fan of sea fresh fish ever since she was young, while Mary discovered a love of Sushi while travelling. Be adventurous and catch the cleverly named food stall at Strandhill People’s Market every Sunday.
