As if we needed more reasons to visit the ever stylish rooftop bar at The Marker, Executive Chef Gareth Mullins has just made a festive trip to this fantastic five star hotel irresistible. A seriously slick 12 Days of Christmas themed menu is the perfect excuse to pop in this silly season.
Paired with Bollinger Champagne, this special menu is composed of imaginative small plates, designed to tie in with each day from the famous carol.
Available in both the Rooftop Bar and The Marker bar downstairs, guests can enjoy delights like A Partridge in a Pear Tree – Partridge Sausage Roll and Pear Chutney (€12) and Two Turtle Doves – a glass of Bollinger Special Cuvée with Smoked Salmon & Cheese Straws (€24).
Ordering Four Calling Birds will summon sumptuous Pheasant, Duck, Turkey & Pigeon Croquettes with roasted Garlic Aioli (€12) and 11 Pipers Piping means piping hot Duck Fat roast Potatoes, Garlic, Parmesan & Brioche (€7). Tempted yet?
Speaking about the menu, Gareth Mullins said, “We were eager to have a good concept for our Rooftop and Bar for Christmas so we used the 12 days of Christmas song for our inspiration as it has a lot of nods to food within the lyrics. There are nice food synergies to work with and it’s a great opportunity to showcase game which is perfect for this time of year, we have partridge, rabbit, duck and of course turkey within the menu. The Bollinger partnership takes it to another exciting level as champagne and Christmas go hand in hand!”
As The Marker is known for fabulous handcrafted cocktails to match the fantastic food offering, the 12 Days of Christmas Menu also includes Christmas tipples. Sip on a Eight Maids A Milking with a Marshmallow Martini made of Marshmallow infused Vodka, Cherry Brandy, Cream and Raspberry Syrup for €13.90 or keep it classic with Seven Swans A Swimming, a glass of Bollinger Special Cuvée served with a Cream Puff Swan for €24.
The delicious Christmas bites are available in sharing board form for 2-3 people for €40, served in The Marker Bar or as an a la carte small plate offering on The Rooftop, with 4-5 plates recommended between two.
