SuperValu has much to celebrate after scooping an impressive 79 titles at the Great Taste Awards 2018, the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink awards. These accolades cement SuperValu’s place as the top performing Irish supermarket.
The supermarket chain’s Signature Taste Range won 45 awards for its products, making it the number one premium range in an Irish supermarket.
At this year’s ceremony, SuperValu’s Signature Tastes Irish Hampshire Smoked Rack of Bacon was awarded a remarkable three stars. The Irish Hampshire breed used in this product is exclusive to SuperValu.
Over the past four years, SuperValu has gained over 180 accolades at The Great Taste Awards and continues to succeed thanks to the quality of its produce.
Another three-star winner was SuperValu’s Signature Tastes Gubbeen Cheese. This cheese is produced in Schull, Co. Cork and has won a Great Taste Award for the past three years. Committed to supporting Irish suppliers, SuperValu is currently working with a growing number of over 1,800 Irish suppliers.
Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, The Great Taste Awards are widely regarded as the benchmark to recognise fine food and drink as it is the world’s largest blind-tasted food awards.
Other winners at the event included SuperValu Gold Blend Tea, SuperValu Crème Fraiche, SuperValu Gluten Free Porridge Oats, Signature Tastes Striploin Steaks and Signature Tastes Champagne & Rhubarb Yoghurt.
