Discover, Dine and Delight at Taste of Donegal’s 10th Food Festival

This August sees Taste of Donegal return for its 10th year for a three-day celebration of food and drink from Friday 24th – 26th August.

The Pier in Donegal Town will play host to a record number of visitors to the festival, with a stellar line up of celebrity chefs and exhibitors. Last year over 25,000 visited this unmissable event.

With over 130 exhibitors in attendance, guests can peruse the market stalls, meet local producers, and sample some of Donegal’s finest food and drink.

Enjoy culinary treats from Ballymaloe Foods, Scotts Irish Cider, Old Irish Creamery Cheese and Killybegs Seafood Shack to name just a few.

The entire family will be entertained throughout the weekend, with interactive street theatre performances, live music such as The Dean Martin Tribute Show and an impressive fireworks display over Donegal Bay.

Festival Chairperson Ernan Mc Gettigan believes the local community is to thank for the success of the festival: “This is an entirely voluntary Community Festival which is brilliant and not every town or village has this, so we’re very lucky.”

Continuing on, Ernan said, “The whole Community of Donegal Town and County really get behind and support us from our hardworking and dedicated volunteers to community groups, sponsors, and businesses.”

A jam-packed programme of events is lined up to delight guests with the best Irish chefs on hand to whip up delicious dishes for food lovers. On Saturday, star chef Neven Maguire of MacNean House & Restaurant will be hosting a fantastic cookery demonstration.

Kevin Dundon from Dunbrody House will also be hosting a cookery demonstration in association with Kavanagh’s Supervalu as well as Gary O’Hanlon, star of TV3’s The Restaurant and Culinary Director of Baxterstorey.
