Taste of Mexico Festival Returns to Dublin this year from 17th to 22nd of November

For the fifth consecutive year, the Mexican gastronomic and cultural Festival, Taste of Mexico, will showcase food, drinks and music from all over the 32 states of Mexico in Ireland, with the week-long festival running from 17th to 22nd of November.

With an array of participating restaurants and food businesses, two exciting and colourful fiestas, wonderful live music, interesting demonstrations and fascinating discussions featuring three world-class experts in their fields over six great days of food, drinks and fun, the fifth annual Taste of Mexico festival will be the best yet!

From the complex and sophisticated cooking for celebrations and holidays to the exquisitely simple foods from many of Mexico’s regions to the huge variety of delicious street food, Mexican food is increasingly popular in Dublin and all around the country. Continuing to appeal to more Irish palates than ever, many new Mexican restaurants, street food stalls and burrito bars open every year, highlighting the appreciation Irish diners have for the flair and flavours of Mexico.

Taste of Mexico this year features many of those fine Mexican restaurants from around the city and offers an opportunity to sample special menus, distinctive drinks and dishes and characterful cocktails, some of them created specially for this annual festival.

Taste of Mexico also has a jam-packed schedule of experts giving in-depth tastings and demonstrations in their areas of expertise. The three experts, Mexican chef Helma Honda, a specialist in authentic Mexican food, tequila expert José Torres-Diaz who works for the Mexican Tequila Regulatory Council in Madrid, and Silvia Phillion, founder and General Director of the non-profit organisation dedicated to research and development projects regarding agave and mezcal, all have a busy itinerary of masterclasses, workshops and tastings over the course of the week, giving guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the ingredients and flavours of Mexican food and drink.

The 2015 Taste of Mexico will also give a number of lucky winners the opportunity to visit Mexico in person, with some incredibly generous prizes of return trips to Mexico city and Riviera Maya to be won over the course of the festival!

There are two great parties associated with this year’s Taste of Mexico – the exclusive launch night on Monday November 9th in No. 10 Ormond Quay, sponsored by Corona, when the full programme and details of prizes and competitions will be announced, and the Fiesta Jose Cuervo on Friday November 20th, sponsored by Jose Cuervo, and an event that brings together all the participating food and drinks businesses for a true celebration of the tastes of Mexico.
