This evening, 15th December 2017, Swords is welcoming its newest venue. The Chalk Bar, located next door to its sister pub The Old School House Swords on Church Road.
The bar features a spacious beer garden area with flat screens to watch sports and a selection of craft beer, including their own brew.
Today’s opening celebrations will kick start at 8:00 pm and guests will enjoy live music by Susan O’Neill as well as tunes by Today FM’s Ed Smith, who’ll be the guest DJ making attendees dance until late. Admission to the opening is free.
Not only sports fans will enjoy The Chalk Bar, music lovers will be happy to know live music and DJs will be featured frequently. The bar’s decor gives a nod to its affinity with great music, with wall art inspired by legends like Thin Lizzy, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
This new opening is the last in a series of recent additions to Ireland’s food and bar scene. In the last few days, other venues that have opened its doors for the first time include the opulent bar 9 Below by St. Stephen’s Green, the stylish Iveagh Garden Hotel on Harcourt Street, new concept multi-venue bar One Hundred One in Limerick and Sligo’s serial restaurateur, Anthony Gray’s latest venture, Hooked.
