The Press Up Group is well known for designing hotspot venues across the city, from the original Instagrammer’s dream bar Sophie’s to the new kid on the block Roberta’s and plenty of quirky spots in between. The newest addition to their ever-expanding portfolio, The Lucky Duck, is set to open this Friday April 27th.
The Lucky Duck on Aungier Street is housed in a “protected structure of architectural and historical significance” and brings back to life a premises which has remained idle for 20 years and has taken the form of a pub numerous times since 1837.
The Press Up Group have injected their signature style into the building, creating a casual and cosy pub serving toasties and homemade soup downstairs, with snugs and a centrepiece copper top bar.
Upstairs, an elegant and inviting restaurant and cocktail bar with plenty of luxurious touches, from velvet teal bucket seats to unrivalled views over Aungier street is spread over three floors above.
Head Chef Stephen Ryan will serve contemporary Irish food, with dishes like Roast Golden Beetroot, Gubbeen Croquette, Watercress, Walnut and Kerry Hill Lamb Shoulder, Sprouting Broccoli, Black Olive, Salsa Verde making up a diverse menu of temptations.
On the cocktail front, the Lucky Duck is leading the pack with a Closed Loop cocktail concept, which is designed to embrace sustainability and reduce waste in the process of crafting delicious libations. FromvOld Square, crafted with Prizefight Irish Whiskey, Cork’s Longueville House Brandy, Tonic Wine and Benedictine to Digges St Shrub Ketel One Vodka, Kiwi, Wine and Snap Peas, it is safe to say the mixologists here have put a creative spin on this menu.
The Lucky Duck pub will open from noon daily, with the cocktail bar and restaurant serving from 5pm onwards. For more information, click here.
