The Merrion Hotel, one of Dublin’s finest along with another five hotels in Ireland, have been named in the Best Hotels for Families by TripAdvisor’s family travel site Family Vacation Critic. A firm favourite of TheTaste, The Merrion have some very cute additions for the smaller members of the family such as the staff in the Tethra Spa welcoming children for a swim in the pool, providing mini- bathrobes for extra cuddly comfort, while the bar managers shake up delicious ‘mocktails’ and they even supply special bespoke Miss and Master Merrion crockery for the children’s meals.
The awards are based upon the views of site’s own team of experts as well as user experiences. To qualify, the hotel must have received a four- or five-star editorial rating, and a 75+ per cent approval rating from families on the site and on TripAdvisor.
As well as the The Merrion, five other Irish hotels were listed in the ‘Europe’ category, out of a total of 20 hotels that met the criteria. More Irish hotels were named on the list than any other European country which is fantastic news for Irish Tourism.
The Merrion came out on top, with 96 per cent of families recommending the five-star resort in Dublin. Family Vacation Critic recommends it for families because of its Merrion Kids programme, its convenient location and its kid-friendly on-site dining and room service.
“These winners represent hotels that truly excel as family-friendly properties,” explains Lissa Poirot, editor-in-chief of Family Vacation Critic on the website.
“Because awards are only given to hotels that receive a high rating from both our team of experts and family travellers who have stayed at the property, the Family Vacation Critic Favorite Hotels designation offers parents a credible stamp of approval to use when searching for the perfect hotel for their family.”
