Jazz up Your Weekend – The Shelbourne’s Legendary Sunday Jazz Brunch is Back
Just as much as the arrival of spring heralds brighter afternoons and the flowering of cherry blossom trees, the season also brings with it the sounds of smooth jazz floating across St. Stephen’s Green. The Shelbourne’s legendary Sunday Jazz Brunch is back and so too are lazy Sundays filled with jazz in No. 27 Bar & Lounge.
This year the brunch returns with a new two-sitting format; the first from 12 midday to 2pm and the second from 2.15 p.m, with reservations made directly with the hotel.
A lavish brunch accompanied by fresh juices, cocktails and live jazz, the No. 27 Sunday Jazz Brunch is the perfect mix of cool tunes, mellow music and great, relaxed brunch favourites, with all the classics and some clever variations on the theme of eggs Benedict.
The tall graceful windows of No. 27 Bar & Lounge at The Shelbourne overlook St Stephen’s Green making it the perfect location to relax and watch the world go by.
Providing the soundtrack to Sunday Jazz Brunch at The Shelbourne are Cary Posavitz and the Players, playing well-known melodies every Sunday from 12.30 to 3.30 p.m.
With a choice of signature brunch favourites from French toast to ‘The Shelbourne Full Irish’, steak and eggs to a classic omelette Arnold Bennett, the menu also features some excellent Irish ingredients, showcased to perfection.
Whether it’s the Kilmore Quay plaice in the fish and chips, the Lambay lobster and Charleville beef fillet with the surf’n’turf, or the delicious Sligo mussels steamed with shallots, cream and white wine in the moules frites, there are Irish ingredients and producers proudly name-checked throughout the Sunday Jazz Brunch menu, as they are through all the menus at The Shelbourne.
With a selection of revitalising juices available from the Juice Bar at €5 each, or delectable classic brunch cocktails from €13, Sunday Jazz Brunch at The Shelbourne also features an exquisite selection of desserts made in-house daily by the talented pastry team.
