2015 is the year-long celebration of Irish Design. In celebration of this, The Westbury Hotel have created a unique and bespoke Irish Design Afternoon Tea which has been inspired by the work of local Irish makers. The tea includes a collection of beautifully handcrafted pastries, cakes and sandwiches, paying homage to some of Ireland’s top designers and craftspeople.
Tatjana Upelniece-Kiselova, executive pastry chef at The Westbury Hotel described how she enjoyed working on this project; “As a chef it is fantastic to have the opportunity to work with established Irish designers. Taking inspiration from jewellery, to woodwork, to porcelain and glasswork we used a range of ingredients and techniques to create a truly bespoke afternoon tea that showcased the best of Irish design.”
The result of her inspiration is a range of sweet and savoury treats which emulate the work of Irish designers Karl Harron, Angela O’Kelly, Cillian O’Súilleabháin, Liam Flynn and Jack Doherty.
Guests can enjoy the bespoke Irish Design Afternoon Tea which is available for €45 per person, and €55 per person with champagne from the 27th of July. Advance bookings are advised and can be made through the hotel.
