This Sunday 3rd of December, South King Street's caffeine mecca Coffee Culture is lending the stage to another of our favourite beverages and hosting a pop-up event named Don't Call Me Sugar, which will focus on changing the misconception about sweet wines and dessert wines. Guests will be able to taste 11 bottlers from some of the world's best regions known for the quality of their sweet wines including Sauternes, Tokajy and Porto. You'll be able to appreciate the differences between five different types of sweet wine: Sparkling, Slightly Sweet, Richly Sweet, Sweet Red and Fortified. This is the perfect opportunity to explore and compare the world of sweet wines, and discover the styles and the complexity they can offer. The wines will be paired with delicious desserts that complement their notes, for example, a nutty Vin Santo paired with a slice of Christmas cake, or a glass of Recioto served with a decadent chocolate brownie topped with hot dark cherries. During your visit, you will be also able to learn about the different production methods for sweet wines such as passito, late harvest, noble rot, ice wine and fortified. The event will take place from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and you can drop by anytime and taste at your own rhythm. Tickets are priced at €38.30. More information: eventbrite.ie
