Top Waterford Chef Opens New Casual Lunch Time Eatery

A visit to Waterford wouldn’t be complete with a delicious meal at The Bay Tree Bistro, a contemporary Irish eatery on the Quays which has earned high acclaim since moving from Ballybricken to the city centre. Headed up by chef proprietor Keith Boyle, the Bay Tree has secured numerous accolades, including Best Restaurant in Waterford 2018 at the Restaurant Association of Ireland Awards.

A buzzing and popular spot with Carmel Boyle at Front of House, the Bay Tree is usually packed in the evenings, but now fans of the Boyles’ hospitality and exceptional food offering can get their fix throughout the day with the opening of Barista at the Bay Tree.

As the name suggests, Barista will offer a casual café dining experience with great coffee and a tempting daytime menu to match. Guests can expect freshly baked scones, croissants and Danish pastries for a light snack with their loose leaf tea or coffee.

For something more substantial, temptations like classic Croque Madame and Croque Monsieur, handmade pork and caramelised onion sausage rolls and steaming bowls of seafood chowder are the order of the day in this cosy new spot, located underneath the Bay Tree Bistro.

Barista is now open and you can pop in from Monday to Friday between 12pm to 4pm to sample Keith Boyle’s casual food offering. For more information click here.
