Tourism Ireland to Promote Irish Tourism in Austin, Chicago and Boston

The US cities of Austin (Texas), Chicago (Illinois) and Boston (Massachusetts) will host a delegation of 12 Irish tourism companies and representatives from Tourism Ireland. This initiative comes as part of the “Jump into Ireland” sales blitz, which has started today, 11th of April.

The Irish group will participate in networking sessions with tourism professionals in these three American cities and they will be featured on a 60-minute TV show format highlighting the island of Ireland. This is the second stage of the 2017 series of ‘Jump into Ireland’ (JITI) sales blitzes, a programme that will see Ireland being promoted in nine different cities in the US this year.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “Tourism Ireland has prioritised North America for 2017, as a market which offers a strong return on investment, in terms of holiday visitors and expenditure. A number of factors are working in our favour, including more airline seats than ever before, from 20 gateway cities across North America to the island of Ireland, with numerous new flights and expanded services in the pipeline for this year.”

Similar events will take place in San Diego and San Francisco (California) and in Houston (Texas), in November.

Tourism businesses taking part in the ‘Jump into Ireland’ sales blitz this week include:

  • Adams & Butler
  • B&B Ireland
  • Ballynahinch Castle Hotel
  • Culture & Heritage Tours Ireland
  • EI Travel Group
  • EPIC Ireland
  • Glasnevin Cemetery Museum
  • Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa
  • Lough Eske Castle
  • Manor House Hotels & Irish Country Hotels
  • Monart Destination Spa
  • The Merrion Hotel
