Urban Brewing Big Opening Introduced Taps and Tapas to the IFSC (Social Gallery)

Urban Brewing celebrated it’s highly anticipated opening last Wednesday 30th of august with an event that gathered over 500 attendees at their inviting new venue in the IFSC’s CHQ Building, a 1,000 square metres of a restored 19th century bonded warehouse now repurposed to host a microbrewery and restaurant.

The place is a new venture from Carlow Brewing Company, and was deemed as the company’s next logical step by CEO Seamus O’Hara.

“The brewery celebrated a landmark 21st birthday this year, and similar to any young adult making their way in the big city, we are excited, enthusiastic, and admittedly a little nervous about our new home from home in Dublin! Urban Brewing has been a dream of the brewery team for a long time, but we needed to wait for the right space, with the right character and concept before we were comfortable taking such a big step.”

He commented that having a full on-site brewery “makes for a very interesting opportunity” as the team will be able to experiment and “flex their creative muscles.”

This is great news for craft beer lovers as they’re now able to work on “small experimental and collaborative brews” as well as develop small batches. “We will also have an amazing food offering and this provides a great opportunity to explore beer and food relationships and combinations.  We have always enjoyed fantastic support from customers and fans in Dublin, and now I feel like we have an opportunity to express our appreciation by adding something really different to the beer and food scene in the city”, OHara added.

Besides their own brews, Urban Brewing has a selection of guest taps which will be periodically updated with selected local and international beers. There is also an assortment of wines, spirits and cocktails to choose from. The food offer will combine a full dinner service plus a tapas menu. Food will be served at lunch and dinner time as well as for special events. Taps and Tapas has a capacity of 170 and Stack A Restaurant can accommodate up to 250 at any given time.

“The idea is for people who come to Urban Brewing to have a different experience every time they visit, whether it’s popping in for a freshly brewed beer and a few bites at the taps and tapas bar and hop garden, or for a more substantial meal over a bottle of wine in the Stack A Restaurant”, O’Hara said.

The venue is located at Vault C, The chq Building, Custom House Quay, IFSC, Dublin 1 and is serviced by George’s Dock Luas Stop, Connolly or Tara St Dart Station.
