Food lovers in Limerick will be gathering next week to celebrate the city’s food culture at a unique festival, Urban Food Fest. The event takes place on Thursday June 16th in the historic Limerick Milk Market and will bring together the top food producers and establishments in a street food bonanza. The top hotels, restaurants, market traders and producers will be cooking up their take on modern street food, all with a signature Limerick twist.
The Urban Food Fest has been inspired by the culture of international street food, with meat skewers hot off the grill, freshly rolled sushi, pulled Limerick pork, steaming paella, curries, seafood pasta, sliders, Mexican tostados, herring and gravlax tasters and even a Limerick cheeseboard. Diners can satisfy their thirst with a range of Limerick craft beers and homemade lemonade while dessert will be provided by local chocolatiers and confectioners.
The event is free and visitors can purchase tokens to sample taster plates from all the stalls. Taking place from 6-10pm at the Limerick Milk Market, there will be games and entertainment for kids as well as adults so the whole family is welcome. Organised by promotional group Limerick Food Group, the event is bound to be a unique and festive celebration of the best of Limerick’s food and drink.
