Wagamama, Dublin 2

Wagamama combines fresh and flavoursome food with a quick and friendly service. With three restaurants in Dublin, one in Cork and one in Belfast, there’s plenty of room to enjoy their Japanese-inspired cuisine and their lively atmosphere that evokes the authentic ramen bars that have been popular in Japan for many years.

Technology is embraced, and orders are taken on wireless gadgets which send them to the kitchens for the chefs to start cooking straight away.

The concept, which begun in London with their first restaurant in 1992, has presence now in 17 countries and is in Ireland since 1998. The name ‘wagamama’ translates from Japanese as ‘naughty child’ or a child that is strong-willed and mischievous, but far from throwing a tantrum, their values emphasizes their freedom to be authentic, and to do things their our own way.

WAGAMAMA RESTAURANT

Wagamama’s japanese-inspired menu features a wide variety of noodle and rice dishes, as well as delicious salads and side dishes, desserts, freshly squeezed juices, coffee and tea, and a selection of drinks including wines, sake, Asian beers and in some of its restaurants, spirits.

All dishes are prepared to order so freshness is ensured and the vibrant colours and tantalising aromas arrive to the table as soon as possible. Best-loved options include classic ramen, teppan (noodles cooked on a hot, flat griddle) and kare (noodles in a coconut based soup).

Between 12:00pm and 3:00pm Monday to Friday, bento boxes are available. These tasty packed lunches offer an array of delicious combinations such as chicken teriyaki, grilled kakuni, fish katsu or the vegetarian option yasai bento.

Wagamama restaurants are family friendly and kids are welcomed to enjoy child-sized and child-friendly recipes from their dedicated kiddie menu. They can also have fun while learning to control their easy-to-use chopsticks.
