Watch: Lords and Ladles Returns to RTE One this Sunday

Starring three of Ireland’s best loved chefs – L’Ecrivain’s Derry Clarke, Ballyknocken House’s Catherine Fulvio and Paul Flynn of The Tannery, Lords and Ladles returns to RTE One this Sunday 18th September to take us all on a delicious tour of Irish food history. Past series have seen the entertaining and talented trio take to landmark properties from Castle Leslie to Westport House, so viewers are surely in for a treat exploring new venues this season.

The premise is simple, each week, the chefs arrive at a different Great Irish Country House and must recreate a grand dinner from its history for your viewing pleasure. To keep things interesting, each chef is assigned a task – one will gather the ingredients, one will cook, and one will get to dine with the Gentry. The chefs are confined to foraging and hunting on the grounds of the Estate and to old house cookbooks to get a real taste of times gone by.

Lords and Ladles gives us a behind the scenes look at the workings of these three chefs, both inside the kitchen and outside as well as letting us marvel at the grand delicacies of the olden days – essential Sunday evening viewing for food lovers. Below is a sneak peek at the new series to whet your appetite:
