The events celebrates local producers and gives the spotlight to the many artisan businesses and family run restaurants that the city has to offer.

He points out that one of last year’s favourite features of the festival is back in 2017. Pip & Pear Pop Up Restaurant, which allowed parents to bring along their “babies and toddlers to try tasty meals made with the freshest and finest produce.”

Irene Queally of Pip & Pear is delighted to return to the festival and she commented that on this occasion, they “will be serving free wholesome breakfasts for babies, toddlers and parents, all from fresh produce, so it gives children a chance to try different tastes and experiment with new foods.”

Other new additions to the festival also promise to bring wholesome, tasty family fun: The Baby HQ Livewell day, a free “Happy Hearts” workshop, Mum-to-be Yoga and Pilates and baby massage classes, are just some of the things to enjoy along with lunch time talks featureing topics such as post-natal recovery and child development.

Other activities and events include a screening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, a free hands-on creative-craft Harvest-themed workshop for children, GIY’s Grow HQ’s “Grow, Cook, Eat” showcase, the Harvest Fit Food and Wellness area, the Junior HQ kitemaking and Grow and Sow and Little Red Kettle workshops.
