Brunch is often used as a handy excuse to sip on an early afternoon cocktail, and for us, the tipple of choice is usually whiskey-based. Bloody Mary’s be damned, uisce beatha is what give us life at weekend brunch, so this latest news is super exciting.
One of our favourite cocktail hotspots, Zozimus, is teaming up with the exciting new Irish whiskey on the block, Slane Whiskey, to bring us a whiskey brunch pop-up this weekend. On Sunday October 15th, the slick Anne’s Lane venue will become a haven for whiskey lovers looking to get their brunch fix.
Slane Irish Whiskey is smooth and balanced, toffee-amber coloured and with a pleasant yellow fruit nose and a palate that evokes rich caramel, cinnamon toast and vanilla, made with top quality grain and malt Irish whiskies and enhanced by the use of an innovative triple casked blending method using virgin American oak, seasoned American whiskey and Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez in Spain.
The brunch offering at Zozimus is crave-worthy in general, but will be made even more tempting with the addition of sauces, marinades and syrups from oaky reductions of Slane Whiskey.
This marriage of two of our favourite things sounds like the best way to spend a Sunday in the city! For reservations contact Joinus@zozimusbar.ie or you can call (01) 536 9640. For more information on Zozimus click here.
