The Couple Behind Bastible to Open New Dublin 8 Restaurant

If you have struggled to get a booking in the ever popular Bastible restaurant, tucked away on Leonard’s Corner in Dublin 8, you will rejoice in the news that the couple behind the roaring success are set to open a second restaurant. Chef Proprietor Barry Fitzgerald and his partner Claire-Marie Thomas are putting the finishing touches to Clanbrassil House, a casual eatery just a few doors from Bastible.

Opening its doors on Clanbrassil Street, the new restaurant will see Gráinne O’Keefe take the reigns in her first Head Chef role, having made a name for herself as Sous Chef in Michelin Bib Gourmand holder Pichet before taking to the kitchen in Bastible. Barry O’Neill, who has also manned the Bastible kitchen, will join O’Keefe as Sous Chef.

Clanbrassil House’s menu is divided into smaller plates and charcoal dishes, the former including tempting combinations like Organic Beets, Toonsbridge Ricotta & Walnut Butter(€9.50) and Connemara Oysters & Bonito Rice Vinegar (€13.50).

Delights from the charcoal grill range from Middlewhite Pig Cheek Sausage, Lentils & Mustard (€18) to Shorthorn Picanha Steak, Bone Marrow & Chimichurri (€21), as well as blackboard specials which will change regularly.

An Early Bird menu will also be offered Tuesday to Friday from 5pm to 6pm, with 3 courses for €25. Clanbrassil House officially opens on Tuesday October 3rd, serving dinner from 5pm to 10pm.
