BrewDog Arcade Nation – Craft Brew Review

Arcade Nation is quite a curious seasonal offering from the continually impressive Scottish stalwart of craft brewing, BrewDog. Never ones to shy away from mixing things up, what we have here is a beer that looks and tastes like a stout or a porter, with notable chocolate tones, but has a mouth feel that dances on the palette much more like a hoppy IPA. Arcade Nation is an interesting beer and one that is bound to puzzle a few taste buds.

Of course a black IPA is nothing new to the Irish craft beer market with Black’s of Kinsale having their Black IPA (the first to brewed in the country) as one of their flagship beers.

Arcade Nation is a pleasant, light and quite easy to drink beer although there are better stouts and IPAs to be chosen from the regular BrewDog range. This beer would however work perfectly as a sort of bridge beer for those IPA drinkers who have yet to develop a taste for some of the richer and more robust flavours of craft stouts.

Available from Molloys.ie from €3.10
