Campo Viejo Tapas Trail Launched with a Blend of Wine and Fun

Last Friday at the Drury Buildings Dublin wine lovers were taken on a colourful journey of art, food and of course, wines. The seductive melody of a  Spanish guitar set the tone for an evening that begun with flutes of Campo Viejo Cava and then allowed attendees to have a preview of what the Campo Viejo Tapas Trail 2016 is going to be.

The trail returns to Ireland this year, and the streets of Dublin, Cork and Galway will experience the vibrancy of Spain. This year sees an extra splash of colour brought to the streets of Dublin as Campo Viejo once again teams up with renowned urban artists Okuda and Remed to create a vibrant outdoor Tapas Trail mural in the heart of the Creative Quarter.

To celebrate the launch of the trail, Campo Viejo brought sample wines straight from their barrels in Rioja and all those present were invited to blend it like an oenologist. Varietal wines from Mazuelo, Tempranillo and Graciano were tasted individually and later blended with the guidance of the vineyard’s experts.

Everyone got to create a blend to match their taste and in between tapas and music, the bottles were corked and labelled. A delightful hybrid between a game and a masterclass was then followed by the unveiling of Okuda and Remed’s Tapas Trail mural, an eye-stopping work that highlights Campo Viejo’s commitment to the arts and culture.

Campo Viejo Tapas Trail will be felt in Dublin from 7th June – 3rd July, Cork from 12th – 27th July, and Galway from 24th August to 7th September.
