Chef’s Table Season 3 Line Up of New Chefs Revealed by Netflix

Chef’s Table, the Netflix original series that profiles the most renowned chefs in the world, has revealed the line up of top chefs that will feature in Chef’s Table Season 3.

Since launching in 2015, Chef’s Table has redefined food television, transforming the genre from food porn to food romance by taking viewers on an intimate emotional journey.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Chef’s Table featured highly regarded international chefs such as Massimo Bottura, Francis Mallmann, Magnus Nilsson, David Chang, Dominique Crenn, and Ana Ros – as well giving a platform of others who were yet to be discovered.

Chef’s Table Season 3 once again spans the globe, featuring six chefs and offering viewers the opportunity to go inside the lives and kitchens of these culinary talents. The creators have broadened the series scope, moving from the rarified world of Michelin starred chefs to a buddhist temple chef living in the countryside of South Korea.

The Chef’s Table Season 3 chefs are:

Jeong Kwan, Baekyasa Temple (South Korea)

Jeong Kwan is considered one of the unsung geniuses of cooking, but her cooking does not take place in a kitchen but at her temple, Baekyansa, two hours south of Seoul, South Korea. Temple cuisine, of which Kwan is a master, was the original ‘farm-to-table’ movement, where spiritual Buddhists were foraging, fermenting, dehydrating and cooking seasonally in a way that has become popular the world over.

Chefs Table Chef Mukhin White Rabbit

Vladimir Muhkin, White Rabbit (Moscow, Russia)

Vladimir Mukhin is the most important and celebrated chef in Russia. Ranked 23rd in the world, Muhkin’s Alice in Wonderland themed restaurant White Rabbit reimagines Russian cuisine and reinvented classic dishes. In fact, Mukhin considers it his duty to introduce and explain Russian food to the rest of the world.

Chefs Table Tim Raue

Tim Raue, Restaurant Tim Raue (Berlin, Germany)

Tim Raue’s unlikely success story saw him break free from a past that included a troubled childhood, membership of a street fighting gang and drug and alcohol problems to become a 2-Michelin star chef and owner of a number of Berlin’s most successful restaurants, including his Asian-inspired Restaurant Tim Raue.

Chefs Table Virgilio Martinez

Virgilio Martinez, Central (Lima, Peru)

Fast becoming an international superstar himself, Virgilio Martinez’s restaurant, Central in Lima, Peru, is now regarded as the 4th best restaurant in the world and number 1 in Latin America.

Chefs Table Ivan Orkin

Ivan Orkin, Ivan Ramen (New York, NY)

Following the tragic death of his wife, Ivan moved to Tokoyo where he found love again, and also fell in love with ramen. Against all odds he opened wildly successful ramen shop in Tokyo. His continued domination of the Tokyo scene eventually led him to move his family back to New York, where they run four restaurants alongside their two Japanese locations.

Chefs Table Nancy Silverton

Nancy Silverton, Osteria Mozza, (Los Angeles, CA)

One of America’s finest bakers and one of the world’s finest pizzaolos, Nancy Silverton is a Los Angeles treasure. Among her many acheivements she has written a definitive cookbook on sandwiches, won the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the country, and started a culinary empire with Mario Batali.

The next installment launches globally on Netflix on February 17th.
