M&S St Clements Hot Cross Buns give Easter a Citrus Twist

M&S expects to sell 1,000 hot cross buns a minute over the Easter bank holiday weekend as shoppers stock up on this favourite breakfast and teatime treat. The retailer sells a third of the nation’s hot cross buns at Easter, totalling over 31 million. And it’s easy to see why, the delicious collection of M&S hot cross buns range from classic Luxury Hot Cross Buns (€2.59 for 4, 310g), flavoured with mixed spice, cinnamon and ginger, to exciting new flavours such as the St Clements Hot Cross Buns (€2.39 for 4, 270g). Orange-infused sultanas, orange purée and tangy candied orange and lemon peel have been added to give these buns a fresh citrusy hit.

Simply toast and spread with butter or use them to make ‘pain perdu’, a twist on French toast served with honey-roasted figs and crème fraîche for an irresistible Easter brunch.

Other tasty flavours include 4 Berries & Cherries Hot Cross Buns (€2.39, 270g), 4 Toffee Fudge & Belgian Chocolate Hot Cross Buns (€2.39, 275g), 4 Kentish Bramley Apple Hot Cross Buns (€2.39, 275g) and 4 Stem Ginger Hot Cross Buns (€2.39, 262g). All are available in M&S stores now.
