Irish cycling legend Seán Kelly has teamed up with Cono Sur to launch the Chilean wine’s official partnership with the Tour de France. Being National Bike Week (13th to 21st of June), a photo-shoot on two wheels was perfectly timed: Seán Kelly and Adolfo Hurtado, Cono Sur’s Executive Director and Chief Winemaker, met in St. Stephen’s Green in Dublin, to share the limited edition wine, with a special label to honour the Tour de France.
This special edition of Cono Sur Bicicleta labels will feature artwork exclusively commissioned by esteemed British artist Eliza Southwood and celebrates the beauty and passion of cycling. Both Seán Kelly and Cono Sur are believers and examples of what hard word and dedication can bring and spokespeople from the winery expressed to be very pleased with is involvement.
Ranked the number one professional cyclist in the world for an unmatched five consecutive years, Seán Kelly won five stages of the Tour de France as well as the green jersey four times.
The bicycle on Cono Sur’s label is also a nod to the company’s environmental principles: it was the world’s first carbon-neutral winery and it evokes the bicycles their workers use to get around the vineyards, helping to keep their carbon footprint low and their grapes at optimum quality.
The Cono Sur Bicicleta wines have an RSP of €11.99 and are widely available nationwide.
