Prestigious Irish Design Firm Begins Work on the New Clontarf Baths This Month

Serendipity By Design, an Irish Dubai-based design firm, has been awarded a contract for the redevelopment of Dublin’s Clontarf Baths.

The Irish company will be returning to Dublin in order to kick-start their presence in Ireland with this high-exposure project.

Owned and managed by Dublin born and UCD graduate, Rebecca Gernon, the firm has made its mark designing for prestigious clients, including some of the largest developers in the middle east, members of the Royal Family, as well as well as highly respected local families and business moguls of the UAE.

Clontarf Baths and Assembly Rooms Ltd, which is privately owned by directors David and Mary Cullen, was granted planning permission in 2012 to restore the seawater baths and add a restaurant and cafe bar.

The restaurant and bar were recently granted a declaratory order for a 7-day on licence. The interior fit out of the project is due to get underway this August, with the project set to open later this year.

Speaking about the new design contract, David Cullen, Director of Clontarf Baths and Assembly Rooms Ltd said: “We chose Serendipity By Design because they are an Irish firm, they have their own unique vision of F&B design and have not fallen into line with the current and common F&B design strategy in Dublin.”

He added: “We anticipate a fantastic mix of people from the local area and beyond. We’ll be providing a place for familly gatherings, business lunches, evening dinner and cocktails drinkers! We want to make the location a focal point again, bring it back to its former glory.”
