Upgrade Your Iced Coffee Fix – Dublin Café Introduces the Dulce de Latte

Does your hand cry out for an icy cup of caffeine the second the sun shines? With Leaving Cert weather upon us and sunny days forecast in the next couple of weeks, one Dublin café is taking iced coffee to the next delicious level with the addition of their own homemade dulce de leche.

The super popular Meet me in the Morning, on Pleasant’s Street, is already a go-to for many for a delicious breakfast like Eggs and Greens or ‘Nut Eile’ Toast, a tasty lunch like vibrant rice bowls or just a consistently good flat white fix.

The newest addition to their list of temptations is aptly named the Dulce de Latte, and it sounds amazing. Dulce de leche is the South American unctuous caramel-like substance of the gods usually crafted by slowly boiling sweetened condensed milk. This is made on site in the café weekly, and added to milk and a naturally processed coffee from Nicaragua roasted by Rubens Gardelli to create the Dulce de Latte.

Similar to the popular Vietnamese iced coffee, which has added condensed milk, the Dulce De Latte is taking things up a notch with crave-worthy caramel notes – this may be the iced latte of our dreams. Owner and award-winning barista Brian O’Keefe says the all important caffeine component will change regularly over the summer as they experiment with coffee from various different roasters and regions, so you can be sure your inner coffee fiend will be just as satisfied as your sweet tooth.

The Dulce de Latte is available now and comes in a 9oz serving for €3.90. For more information on Meet Me in the Morning click here.
