On Sunday 16th September, you can take part in The Big Eggsellent Breakfast to raise awareness and to tackle childhood obesity for a healthier future.
As part of A Taste of West Cork Food Festival, an exciting event is taking place in the West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen, where guests will learn all about the versatility and benefits of eggs.
Kate Ryan of Flavour.ie, Caroline Murphy of West Cork Eggs and Alison Kingston of Alison Health launched Eggsellent Breakfasts in 2017 and have been advocates for the cause ever since.
They have spoken to over 1,500 school children across West Cork to encourage them to enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast such as eggs.
Eggs are a quick and easy breakfast option, easily accessible and they are a completely natural whole food.
Join the three egg-sperts for a morning of fun interactive talks and cookery demonstrations as well as a visit from Helen the Hen and a nutritious tasty breakfast.
Feast on a breakfast of American Style Pancakes with Blueberries and Honey, Fresh Fruits, Nuts, a variety of Fruit Juice and Tea and Coffee.
Attendees will also go home with a goodie bag with a box of fresh West Cork Eggs, a fantastic recipe booklet and a few other goodies too. You will also be in with a chance to win an eggsellent hamper!
Kate Ryan commented on the event saying; “The response to our Eggsellent Breakfasts initiative at schools across the West Cork region has been phenomenal! Children love it and we receive amazing feedback from the schools we visit.”
Tickets for the Eggsellent Breakfast event are priced at €10 per person or €35 for a family ticket. Booking is advised as there will only be a limited number of tickets available on the day.
