Friday Food Festival Round Up – Five Fantastic Food Festivals Happening this Weekend

If you thought we reached peak festival this summer then think again. This September the food festival fever has intensified, particularly on the food festivals front.

This weekend is no exception with a host of food and drink events taking place across the country.

We’ve rounded up the five biggest food festivals taking place this weekend this, 22nd-24th September, for you to feast on.

Cork Oyster and Seafood Festival

In celebration of the beautiful bounty of seafood delights on offer in the south, Cork Oyster & Seafood Festival 2017 will take place in The Metropole Hotel from Friday 22nd September until Sunday 24th September.

Dublin Vegfest

Dublin VegFest

Ireland’s largest vegan food and lifestyle event Dublin Vegfest is back this weekend, September 23rd-24th. This year Dublin VegFest is taking over the larger arena of Griffith College and visitors to the two day event can expect stalls offering the best vegan food by local producers, lifestyle talks, cookery demos, animal rescues, movie screenings and more.

Macroom Food Festival kicked off on Thursday 21st and will run until Sunday 24th of September 2017 with a great line-up of indoor, outdoor and mostly free food, drink and music events. Visitors this year can expect the return of favourites like the Artisan Affair on Friday, the Taste Trail taking place Saturday and Sunday’s monster outdoor market.

Armagh Food & Cider Festival

Armagh Apple Food & Cider Festival

In a celebration of all things apple, the Armagh Food & Cider Festival is back from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th September with a line up that combines the finest of Armagh cuisine with the best of local cider. Toast to the harvest season and take part in events like Urban Orchard, Food & Cider Market, a Night in the Orchards and Pairing Under the Stars and the Harvest Supper and Concert.

Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival

The 63rd edition of the Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival kicks off this weekend boasting a tantalising schedule of seafood trails, the Oyster ‘Olympics’ or World Oyster Opening Championship, a Mardi Gras style Gala Event and more. The festival is regarded as the most internationally recognised Irish festival after St Patrick’s Day and the world’s longest running Oyster Festival.
