Five Must-Try Irish Craft Beers at the Franciscan Well Easter Beer Festival

This Easter weekend, craft beer lovers will be spoiled for choice at the Franciscan Well Easter Beer Festival, at the Franciscan Well Brewery & Pub in Cork City. The festival will be held on the 15th and 16th or April and it will be open to the public from 1:00 pm each day, free admission.

If you’re heading there, here are five beers we highly recommend you to try!

Five Must-Try Irish Craft Beers at the Franciscan Well Easter Beer FestivalFresh Prince of Kildare

Double IPA – 9% ABV

Trouble Brewing

We absolutely love this beer’s name but unlike Will Smith easygoing character, this one is a powerful creature, made in homage to the New England IPA craze that has taken over the craft beer world.

Style: Deep, hoppy, big body.

Five Must-Try Irish Craft Beers at the Franciscan Well Easter Beer FestivalStrawberry Vanilla Shake IPA

Milkshake IPA – 5%

Rascals Brewing

This creamy and unusual strawberry and vanilla brew was in everyone’s glasses at the Alltech Craft Beer Festival last February. It’s available in small quantities so seize the opportunity and don’t leave the festival without a sip or two!

Style: Fruity and creamy.

Five Must-Try Irish Craft Beers at the Franciscan Well Easter Beer FestivalRoaring Ruby

Red Ale – 4.4%

West Cork Brewing

A classic red ale with hints of caramel and a delightful richness. Refreshing and balanced, it is the craft beer equivalent of comfort food.

Style: Smooth and malty

Rye IPA – 5% ABV

Rising Sons Brewery

A hoppy creation with the sharpness that rye brings and a great chance to try something outside this brewery’s core range (which you can read about on a recent interview on TheTaste).

Style: Juicy, citrus

Five Must-Try Irish Craft Beers at the Franciscan Well Easter Beer FestivalPort Lager

Lager – 4.1% ABV

Metalman Brewing

Inspired in Waterford’s rich brewing history, this refreshing lager offers an easy to drink pint. It’s made folloing a traditional recipe and it shows that lager can be exciting in the right hands!

Style: Light and refreshing
