Game for Wine at The Olde Post Inn

Friday, November 20th will see Chef Gearoid Lynch of The Olde Post Inn and James Nicholson (JN) Wine host a six course tasting menu dedicated to the season’s wild game with accompanying wine pairings.

Guests will experience an exclusive tasting menu, available for one night only, which will be prepared by award-winning Chef Gearoid Lynch and paired with an array of JN Wine to complement and lift the flavours of each dish.

Dishes on the evening will include game pie, terrine of woodcock & teal, pot roasted pheasant, mulled wine sorbet, herb crusted loin of venison and cherry clafoutis.

These dishes will be paired with wines such as Rustenberg Chardonnay 2014, Stellenbosch, South Africa; Uno Pio Uno 2013 Michele Biancardi, Puglia, Italy; Baltos 2012 Domino de Tares, Mencia, Spain and a Ruby Blue Kir Royal, all carefully selected by JN Wine to enhance and elaborate on the wealth of flavours on every plate.

Less than an hour from Dublin and just minutes from Cavan town, Head Chef and Owner Gearoid Lynch runs the award-winning fine-dining restaurant and guest house The Olde Post Inn alongside his wife Tara. A relaxed and atmospheric country house, the surroundings of the Olde Post Inn make a lovely backdrop to an entertaining and informative tasting and wine evening.

The 5-course Game and Wine Dinner, which begins at 7.00pm on Friday 20th November costs €100 per person with matching wines, tea or coffee and petit fours.
