Ginspiration: Five Great Spots to Celebrate World Gin Day in Dublin

World Gin Day is taking place this Saturday 11th of June and in order to celebrate it, we have come up with a fun walkable trail that will take you across five great spots in town where you can enjoy a proper gin cocktail and a cool atmosphere.

Below you’ll find the suggested route, with approximately 25 min of walking from start to finish. Use it as ginspiration but feel free to mix and match and add your own favourite spots to the tour.

We begin in Yamamori on South George’s Street, where an authentic Japanese experience is complemented with an opening toast. Their signature cocktails list is a real treat and chosing a favourite is a though job, but the Thai Whisper really stands out.  The drink combines Bombay Sapphire and St. Germain Elderflower with a hint of coriander.

A short stroll after and you’ll arrive at Pichet on Trinity Street, where a you will feel at home thanks to their relaxed atmosphere, ideal to enjoy a nice dinner or some lovely bar bites. Gin-wise, they offer a lovely selection of top brands and a a handful of appealing drinks. Our pick? Go Slow Gin Martini, a nice take on a classic.

The night is still young and at Balfes on Balfe Street you can enjoy a mix of Parisian and NYC influences. If the weather is nice, sit outside and treat yourself to some oysters. Check their craft cocktails selection and, just because it’s World Gin Day, stop at their aromatic Rosemary Martini, an outstanding sweet and savoury explosion of flavour.

Now that we’re in the mood to party, let’s keep on moving towards 37 Dawson Street, where Gin meets Chambord liqueur on a delightfully citrusy drink called Bramble. Its distinct flavour will definitely go in tune with the places fabulously quirky surroundings.

Last but not least, we’ll close the night at The Liquor Rooms, the place to be on a stylish Saturday night. Their impressive cocktail menu will have you spoiled for choice. Charlie Chaplin is the name our our World Gin Day choice, and it offers a mellow end to the trail, thanks to its mix of apricot Brandy and lemon.
