Ireland and the USA Go Head-to-Head for Polo in the Park Charity Match

One of the most exhilarating sporting events of the year takes place this week as the Irish Polo Team will take on their American counterparts this Friday 8th September on the historic grounds of the Phoenix Park Polo Club.

Arranged by the All Ireland Polo Club, the United States Polo Association and Pommery, the match is in aid of Lotus Child, an Irish charity dedicated to easing the plight of Street Children in India through the provision of shelter, education, medicine and love.

Friday’s exclusive event will be held in a bespoke marquee where guests will be treated to a Pommery champagne reception upon arrival.

After enjoying a sumptuous luncheon created by Denis Connolly of Tinakilly House, guests will be further treated to a taste of Pommery’s Sky Blue – the first in Ireland – at the ceremonial ‘Stomping of the Divots’ during the match.

Speaking about the event, Alannah Smyth, CEO of Lotus Child said “We are delighted to be the beneficiary of this magnificent event in Ireland which promises to deliver a very exciting celebration of Polo in aid of a very worthy cause.”

“Lotus Child is an all-volunteer initiative meaning that all monies raised will go towards greatly improving the lives of many children in our locations in India. We would especially like to thank Pommery & Dalcassian Wines for their support in making this a day to remember for our guests – Pommery and Polo are a winning combination.”
