Celebrations were in full swing at Galgorm Resort & Spa this week, as the luxury hotel in Northern Ireland was awarded another prestigious accolade.
In a black-tie ceremony at The Lyrath Hotel, which was attended by over 600 guests, the resort was named ‘Ireland’s Best Four Star Resort’ at the Gold Medal Awards.
Run by Hotel and Catering Review, The Gold Medal Awards recognise and reward excellence in hospitality and catering across Ireland and have long been seen as Ireland’s catering industry bible.
Judges for the competition said Galgorm Resort & Spa exhibited the highest standards in their flawless service in a relaxed and comfortable resort, while both meeting and far exceeding guest expectations.
Colin Johnston, General Manager of Galgorm Resort & Spa, commented on the win, saying: “We are extremely proud to be recognised as Ireland’s Best Four Star Resort in the Irish hospitality biggest industry award The Gold Medal Awards. It’s a huge accolade for all the staff to be honoured as achieving the highest standards and excellence in hospitality.”
The well-deserved win comes after the resort won ‘Gin Bar of the Year 2018’ at the Bar of the Year Awards. It seems Galgorm is on winning streak as the resort’s previous awards include ‘Global Luxury Spa of the Year 2017’ at the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2017, as well as ‘Resort Spa of the Year for Western Europe and Scandinavia’ from the World Spa and Wellness Awards.
Galgorm Resort & Spa beat out the stiff competition as this year’s Gold Medal Awards, which had over 550 entries across 33 categories. Throughout the judging, over 200 site inspections were carried out by the judges to various venues.
